Arrive
at ‘The Twins’ - disembark at shearer’s quarters, unload our

A
special surprise for Keith when Terry appears with cake adorned by
sparklers to celebrate another birthday. Keith reminisces that when
he last celebrated a birthday in these remote parts he was less than half
his present age. The sounds of frivolities and the aromas of fine food attract the attention of the Station work dogs who take up temporary residence at our quarters and remain, at mealtimes, for the duration of our stay. Bryan went out on a hike to see the Milky Way and later they had some astronomy instruction from Dennis, taking advantage of clear air and no light pollution - with a pair of binoculars attached to a tripod with duct tape - a la McGuiver. |
